With over 500 agents in 7 offices, we often poll them to see what some of their favorite places to eat, drink and be merry are. In honor of the start of Summer and warm weather, we asked them for where they go to get their ice cream fix.
Here is what they said:
1- OddFellas Ice Cream! – 175 Kent Ave, Williamsburg
There are two of them. One is in Williamsburg (175 Kent Avenue) and in the East Village (75 East 4th Street).I love them because they serve sweet and savory favors that you would not think goes together. My favorite flavors: Chorizo Caramel Swirl and Grapefruit Jalapeno Sorbet.
—Vanessa Peters2- The Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, 65 Bayard St, Chinatown
I love most flavors, but green tea and almond are among my favorite. Depending on the time of day you may have to wait in line a bit at this small shop but the gourmet flavors are definitely worth the wait. Lychee, Taro, Ginger,… Exotic flavors that leave you wanting more! Definitely check it out. Another plus is that it’s open until 10:30pm.
Seasonal flavors, ingredients found in your pantry and fridge as well as a environmental business approach…can’t go wrong with that. I always judge an ice cream by its strawberry; so when done right, I venture into other flavors as vanilla.
4- Holey Cream, 796 NINTH AVE, Hell’s Kitchen
I love it because if you are going to indulge this is the place to do it! My favorite is the build your Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. You pick one of their store baked donuts, you choose and icing, and then a topping, they slice it open and then scoop in your favorite ice cream flavor. All homemade, and not just you ordinary flavors. Only to be eaten on days when you are not counting calories.
This is the BEST place ever!! It closes in the winter. Its originally from Long Island. I walk 10 blocks just to go there~! Everything is fresh. The Vanilla chip ices is the BEST! And I don’t usually eat Ice Cream or Ices. This is worth the walk even in the rain!
I know you asked for ice cream, but nothing (NOTHING) says New York City in the summer time like this place. I dont even like lemon ices and I could exist on their lemon ice. SO famous to real New Yorkers that they are even featured on the tv show the King of Queens (which was the name my dad actually mentioned The Ice King of Carona by…) and on the Wikipedia page for Corona, Queens.
7) Lula’s Sweet Apothecary 516 E 6 St., East Village
Peanut Butter is my favorite. “The Best Vegan Ice Cream!” – Most flavors are cashew milk base and it gives such rich flavor and very creamy consistency. Hard to believe it is non-dairy! And such cute decor of old ice cream parlor.
8) L’Arte del Gelato – Chelsea Market 75 Ninth Avenue or High Line (Tenth Ave/15th St),Chelsea, Lincoln Center Plaza, Upper West Side, Washington Square Park , Greenwich Village and Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo.
~Nocciola delle Langhe (Hazelnut from Langhe) and Pistacchio di Bronte (Pistachio of Bronte) are my favorites. Freshly made artisanal gelato with the finest ingredients! Tastes of Italy!
I love this place bc their icecream is just so delicious; they infuse the icecream right infront of you – its like a show! Favorite flavor is Salty Pimp- Dulce de Leche
10) Fresco, 138 2nd Ave., East Village
Love the Biscotti, but they surprise me every week with something different.
11) Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, 97 Commercial St, in Brooklyn Heights
It’s located in a landmark fireboat house on the Fulton Ferry Pier (corner of Old Fulton and Water Street). You can enjoy your ice cream and the most amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty at the same time! My favorites are Vanilla and Butter Pecan.
This place has the best ice cream in my opinion. They have few locations in NYC and one in Southampton. My favorite flavors are Strawberry & Gianduia
We all scream for Eddie’s Ice Cream. Here’s why:
14) McDonalds, any in the city.
This one is easy. Their $1.00 Vanilla cone is the best deal since dollar slices! Why would anyone go to Mr. Frosty?
