With over 500 agents all around the city, we are never at a loss for getting great firsthand suggestions about where to eat, drink and be merry in NYC. Today our agents told us about their favorite sushi spots in NYC:

restaurant

Sushi Yasuda

204 E 43rd St, New York, NY 10017 (Midtown East)

It’s not fancy but set up very modern and simple, just like they would have in Japan. Lots of white, clean lines, and lots of wood.
And the staff is super knowledgeable about guiding you so you have the best meal possible. If its on the menu but its not the freshest or not really in season at the moment, the waiter will tell you and suggest you order x, which has a similar taste. I’ve never had a bad meal there!

SUteiShi

24 Peck Slip, New York, NY 10038 (Financial District)

Best sushi in NYC! The fish is so incredibly fresh it melts in your mouth. The staff makes you feel like family, and when the hurricane hit, several places offered up their restaurants for the sushi chefs to work out of because the demand was so great that they operated even thru the devastation down there  (the restaurant was forced to close due to Sandy). It reopened in the winter and has been jam packed every night.

Poke

Sushi of Gari

402 East 78th Street New York, NY 10075 (Upper East Side)

When I can do it right, I LOVE Sushi of Gari on east 78th street between First and York Ave.
It’s a teeny, tiny place and they have the BEST Omakase ever (even if you have to sell one of your kidneys to afford it) and a MUST try once in a life time.  You can tell them if there are certain things you wouldnt eat (Sea Urchin for me, though I hear from fans that it’s fantastic there) and they wont put those things on your plate.  You have to sit at the Sushi Bar if you can, so you get to interact with the chef. http://www.sushiofgari.com/sog.html It will run you about $180-to 250 a person if you get some Saki too – but make sure you tell them when to stop, because they will keep feeding you (and charging you) until you tell them to stop.  Also, they have the BEST Spicy Tuna in the world.  Notable treats are the Anchovy and Cream Cheese Wontons.
Give them a call – the silly hold music is enough to make you want to call back, just for kicks.  You need a reservation for sure, and there is ALWAYS a line, so you will thank yourself in the end.

Sake & Umi

2347 86th St, Brooklyn, NY 11214 (Bensonhurst) & 6 E 32nd St, New York, NY 10016 (Midtown East)

I love Sake in Bensonhurst. It’s all-you-can-eat sushi for $17.95 with lots of awesome choice, even plate of sushimi included in price.
And my Manhattan favorite is Ichi Umi on West 32 street. It’s a block long all-you-can-eat paradise of sushi and seafood.
Now I’m hungry, haha!

Sushi Ann

38 E 51st St, New York, NY 10022 (Midtown East)

BEST sushi in ALL of Manhattan. Friendly, professional and courteous. Great service!

Ninja New York

25 Hudson St, Manhattan, NY 10013 (TriBeCa)

It’s a world for itself, excellent food that comes with various presentations (fire, smoke, swords), american size dishes, great atmosphere, everyone dressed like Ninjas.
